Patient Partnership Group blog - May

Trish Cargill, Chair of the Trust’s Patient Partnership Group writes:

The Patient Partnership Group (or PPG for short) has an important role to play at NUH. It is a group of patients and staff who come together monthly to offer a view on Trust issues. Importantly, this group supports the Trust in its quest to make improvements that improve the experience of patients, their relatives and carers.

This month, by working together with staff we have:
  • Completed catering audits throughout the Trust. This involved visiting the main production areas, ward kitchens and observing the way in which food is served. Our involvement provided valuable feedback that will further improve the Trust’s catering services.
  • Worked with staff to undertake a patient-let assessment QMC. The 12 patient representatives were part of a series of teams who looked carefully at cleanliness, environment and food service standards. They tasted food and provided a range of feedback. This is part of the national assessment  PLACE assessment. The results are due to be published this summer.
