Patient Partnership Group blog - July

Trish Cargill ,Chair of the Trust’s Patient Partnership Group writes:

The Patient Partnership Group (or PPG for short) is a group of patients and staff who work together to make hospital services even better for patients.

This month, we have:

  • Attended the opening of the new Cystic Fibrosis Unit by Her Royal Highness Countess of Wessex - where it was a delight to see how patients have been involved in designing this first-class unit.
  • Tasted patient meals and given our feedback and suggestions for further improvements.
  • Had a fascinating presentation and discussion about the Trust’s ICT Strategy for NUH 2015 – 2020.We were excited to hear about how technology will further improve both patient and staff experience over the coming years via projects such as digitalised health records, shared community records and news ways of communicating with patients e.g. video conferencing .The new technology will help patients to get involved and play a more active role in managing their own health.
