Patient Partnership Group - October

Trish Cargill ,Chair of the Trust’s Patient Partnership Group writes:

The Patient Partnership Group (or PPG for short) has an important role to play at NUH. This group of patients and staff come together monthly to offer a view on Trust issues. Importantly, this group supports the Trust in its quest to continually improve patient, family and carer experience.

This month, by working together with staff we have:
  • Been involved in the catering audits at QMC and City Hospital where we found improvements in the quality and choice at the outlet facilities. We also found that patient representatives are enjoying involvement at the monthly food tasting sessions put on by the catering department, which is helping to ensure the food served to patients remains of the highest quality.
  • Participated in a recent pilot to review corridors around the Trust to monitor cleanliness and general condition of the corridors at QMC and City Hospital.
  • Discussed the benefits of purchasing a weekly or monthly car parking ticket to those patients/carers who regularly visit our hospitals
